Issue Position: A Living Minimum Wage

Issue Position

I support a minimum wage of $15.00 per hour. Taxpayers end up subsidizing those businesses that do not pay a living wage, through public assistance programs. People who work full time should not have to rely on food stamps and other types of public assistance just to get by. Full time workers should be able to support themselves and their families with the wages they have earned.

Along with supporting a living minimum wage, I will fight for free or affordable training and educational opportunities to prepare people for higher paying jobs.
